Free database desktop application
|Posted by etogre, 04-12-2008, 12:08 AM|
|I'm looking for a desktop application for windows that will allow me access a local MySQL database and work with it like I would in PHPMyAdmin. I know such things exist but I'm having trouble finding one with Google.
So if anyone can recommend a good free one, that would be cool. Also if there was support for other database types that would be superb, but not required.

|I'll second Toad (if you're running Windows on your client machine that is); it's extremely powerful and full featured for a free app. I tend to use DBVisualizer (a paid app) more because of it's better cross-database platform support (plus it also runs on non-Windows machines being a Java app), but if you're just using a single database platform and your client machine is Windows, Toad would my choice.

|Thanks, I think I will give Toad a test run.
