Moving 5 GB site

Hello, I got a new server for a site that contains 5 GB of data. I'm wondering how can I move it? I have root access to both servers. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use rsync to copy it, rsync -av -e ssh /path/to/data/ root@newserver:/new/path/to/data/ However if you are using a webserver and require all of that moved also then you need to provide more details of your enviornment.

You can install ncftp from http://www.ncftp.com/ncftp/ and move everything via ftp like this(execute this on the new server): ncftpget -u $username -p $password -r ftp://oldhost.com:/* /path/to/where/to/move If you have a Fedora OS then ncftp can be installed using: yum install ncftp Let me know if you have any issues.

Thanks a lot. Both servers have cPanel/WHM installed. Is there a simpler way?

You can easily perform a full cPanel transfer Login to WHM -> Transfers -> Copy multiple accounts/packages from another server Provide the IP of the old server, its root pass, SSH port then choose the accounts that you want to transfer.
