SteadFast Cloud vs GigenetCloud

Hi Anyone has any comments or using? Network latency, speed? Disk I/O wise? Etc... client would like to only go with either one but performance or benchmark wise, both look very good. Which one you'd prefer to go with based on performance specs. Thanks in advance for your input. PS: my apologies if this post don't belong here.

Both are very reputable here on WHT so I'd say either one will in the end depend on your specific preferences and requirements in detail. Why not give both a try for a short period with-in the money back guarantee, and stay with the one that fits your client better? Cheers

Hi, I see, glad to hear. Hopefully someone else will post their input also. Anyone ever used Krypt.com for either Cloud or Dedicated ?

I have VPS from third-parties at downtown Chicago and Manhattan Steadfast locations. I can't say anything about their cloud but both Steadfast dcs are dependable and the network connectivity is excellent. Last edited by dotHostel; 01-12-2012 at 02:37 PM.

I've used Gigenetcloud for a while in a higher-traffic environment. In short, I'd rate the network performance highly. The CPU performance is good; they use Xeon E5620 CPUs and Xen 5.6 on their hypervisor nodes. The disk performance is...middle-of-the-road. However, this seems to be par for the course with many SAN-based cloud providers. (see the disk IO benchmark at blog.cloudharmony.com) I've heard nothing but good things about steadfast cloud, but their pricing ($875+ per month for 8 cores and 16GB of RAM) seems a bit steep, so I haven't been able to justify using steadfast cloud instead of dedicated servers. Steadfast's cloud is a bit on the expensive side, however it is quite good. I haven't tried Gigenet's cloud yet so I can't say for sure which one is better. OnApp is something else though

No two OnApp installs are the same, and Steadfasts deployment is really good.

Hi Anyone has any comments about Krypt.com? Their network, support, etc....?

Yes, like with anything you pay for what you get. A fully redundant cloud setup is not cheap, so don't expect the provider to be selling VM's on it for peanuts.
