H-Sphere or CPanel?
|Posted by chusiumei, 03-30-2003, 07:53 AM|
|It seems most of the reseller use CPanel. I joined one reseller plan which uses H-Sphere since I like the automated domain registration and billing features. However, it's not easy to config the setting of H-Sphere here and there.
Now I am considering to shift to CPanel plan. May I know in ways most of the resellers handle the domain registration and billing. I know Enom is one of the solution in domain reg. However, do we have to buy a number of domain from them upfront and sell by ourself one by one? Is the setting user friendly? Also, what sort of billing management tools are good and user friendly.
Any advices will be very much appreciated.

|with enom u can use REGISTRYROCKET. u don't have to buy domains from them upfront, furthermore they themselves make the billing. yes, it is quite user friendly.
other solution for billing is 2checkout.com

|H-sphere seems absolutely awesome, but im just not ready to move from Cpanel, im sure we will see alot from cpanel in the future and Im waiting to see some of the features in h-sphere come alive in cpanel eventually.
But feature wise i definately think h-sphere has cpanel beat right now, the only problem is their pricing structure isnt what im looking for.

|cpanel will have my vote ...although it still has quite a few bugs ...

|I think that cpanel is still the best, however its falling behind in features fast, they need to get on the move in my honest opinion..
I know i will get flamed for saying that, but to have as many customers as they have paying monthly what they pay they should have been added some nicer features.... Its not fun having to us a 3rd party software in conjunction with cpanel to do things that new panels like h-sphere already does and then some...

|RH4U, Are you suggesting cpanel add billing features or are there site control features you are talking about?. I look for hosts that provide cpanel because it appears more straightforward to use. If h-sphere has site control features not included in cpanel, what are these features? I may want to try h-sphere again.

|The big plus for hsphere is its automation in customer signups- from billing to domain name registration. Credit limits can also be set to allow hosted customers to upgrade their own account's resources right in their control panel and billing is automatically calculated. So it's hands off really when it comes to the billing aspect for your customers.

|Im suggesting that cpanel add more automated tasks such as h-sphere has...
H-sphere allows for the setup of various payment processors with clicks of a button, AND it allows your resellers the same easy of use.
H-sphere automates sign up.
It automates domain registration with the 2 most popular registrars(both of which you can resale from yourself).
The list goes on and not to mention they have a nice documentation setup and support where as cpanels documentation is crappy IMHO.
They are the best, but they wont be for long if they dont get on the move.. H-sphere will quickly overtake them if they dont watch it, if H-sphere had a pricing structure similar to cpanel I think cpanel would already be in trouble..
But who really knows,
