Reseller Hosts & Independent eNom Reseller Acc. and Billing System

Howdy everyone Are reseller hosts obliged to have eNom and billing system account attached to their hosting providers? Isn't it possible for one to own his owned WHMCS license and eNom reseller account, so that he can take them with him wherever he goes and whenever he upgrades? Please share with us your experience and recommendations Thank you and have nice time(s) ahead.

Hi, No it isn't required to have your eNom (or other domain registrar) and billing system accounts attached to your hosting provider. However, many reseller providers offer these as perks, because they can sometimes be expensive to have on your own. It is possible to own both your own license for WHMCS and eNom, although it would likely be more expensive, at least initially. But having your own licenses means that you aren't tied down to any certain provider, and it makes it easy for you to scale upwards onto a VPS or dedicated server, where these providers often don't offer WHMCS licenses or eNom accounts.

Absolutely not obligated, but a marketing technique, yes! Personally, I would purchase your own license and start everything through the companies directly. This way, if your chosen hosting company ever takes the fall or you ever decide to move on, you're not abruptly unlicensed.

Your not obligated to use anything, but it would definitely be cheaper for you in the long run. It is important to note that the majority of reseller providers would still let you sell domains through them, as they would still be making money off of each domain you register. Furthermore, if at any time you do want to move out of your Reseller Account and into a VPS/Dedicated or whatever all you would need to do is change the WHMCS license key, you would not lose any information whatsoever with your WHMCS. This typically is true for most all billing systems, at least to my knowledge!

I would advise to take the hosts offer if they are free. The reason behind applies differently between the WHMCS and Enom account. With the WHMCS you can get a free ride on licensing if it is included with the resellers plan. If you do decide to change hosts you can either find another host that offers this billing system and just get a new license key, or you can get one yourself. Either way you just saved prices for a period time and you will never loose the information in your WHMCS by changing the license key. As for the Enom account. Once you get it most companies let you keep it. The reason behind this is they do turn a profit from every reseller they have under them for each purchase the sub reseller makes. By all means if you do worry about losing any of these addons then I would recommend to purchase or obtain them on your own, but like I said you can get a free ride for awhile if oyu take advantage of the hosts offers.
