ZFS Build - Recommendations

Hello, Not sure which forum would serve best for this thread but I've been reading into NAS technologies and ZFS has definitely intrigued my interest. I did a search and lot of people are talking about it but I haven't seen anybody come up with a list of recommended hardware and software stack. I've been looking into ZFS and BTRFS - has anybody used FreeNAS in a production environment? I have some hardware sitting around and I was thinking of buying some used Supermicro chassis off eBay to test things out. I have 3 x 800GB S3700 Intel SSD's with PB's of write left on them I can grab whatever HDDs - Seagate 128MB Cache 3TB SAS or whatever people recommend, performance is key followed by power usage. Maybe a Supermicro Chassis with 24-36 hot-swap bays (Chassis itself: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Supermicro-S...r/321835852460 or something with components like http://www.ebay.com/itm/4U-Supermicr...S/151788263322) These are just examples, I'm looking for input. Dual RAID controllers vs. HBAs I have plenty of RAM so I can throw 64GB or 128GB ECC RAM in there I'll grab two X520-DA2 NICs with Twinax cables. Cisco Nexus N5K switch I'm trying to get a hybrid solution here where the storage doesn't need to be 100% SSD but still perform SSDish. We currently use Cachecade Pro 2.0 on our servers but I'm looking for other methods to improve our performance. I've found http://rockstor.com/ for BTRFS, FreeNAS and NAS4Free for ZFS along with NexentaStor for HA (16TB Web GUI limit but I was told the CLI will still work). Not set budget, but I'm not looking to go all our during the testing unless I'm confident that it's something that can turn into a production system. All suggestions are welcome, I will post results and of course conduct my own due diligence Thanks!

No response here, can we please move this to the Data Center and Colo forum?
